The Guys are notoriously good musicians, but are invariably indecisive when it comes to choosing band names. After a fair amount of linguistic gymnastics and word association, Dodging Cupid was , shall we say, the choice of resignation. The name is not a  thematic reflection of our believes, values, or life styles, or holds any other significance except to say that there is certain curiosity among those who do place relevance to band names.

I love History. After all, those who choose to ignore it are destined to re-live it. Not that this statement has anything to do with the rest of the discourse. It was just something to say that can be deemed as clever, if not irrelavant......In our former life we were known as The Soul Avengers, again, another testament to our incisive abilities to name ourselves, but not totally without some meaning- we did, and still do play Soul, among other things. The band has morphed a few times in our nine year history, starting as a collection of weekend warriors placed together as part of a music store advertisement to sell equipment , to who we are today. Our repertoire of players has for the most part remained consistent, adding and subtracting one or two along the way. Our gig experiences have been most interesting  We have played for:  Cradle worshiping moose lodges,  Senatorial re-elections, British Marine Bands, Over 60 wedding, Woodstock revivals,  and a lot of stuff in-between. The common thread in all of this is Fun! Regardless of the gigs, we have lots of it, and the audience does as well.

We Love to play and perform in front of an audience. Our Passion is music, both individually and collectively as a group. I have to say with a slightly jaded eye, that our audiences connect with us because we are not only good, but engaging, interactive , and charming as hell. Don’t let the pictures fool you- theses geezers are pleasers!
